ZJ Pei is the program director of the Manufacturing Machines and Equipment
program at National Science Foundation. He is also a professor in the
Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering at Kansas
State University. Prior to joining Kansas State University, he worked in
industry for four years (at MEMC Electronic Materials, GE Panametrics,
Strasbaugh, and Saint-Gobain Abrasives). He received his PhD in
Mechanical Engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He
is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and serves as
an associate editor for Machining Science and Technology and Journal of
Manufacturing Processes. He has published more than 120 journal papers,
120 conference papers, three patents, and eight book chapters.
